

Indian illustrator Anand RK and journalist Supriya Sharma have won the 2026 Pulitzer Prize in the Illustrated Reporting and Commentary category. They shared the prestigious award with Natalie Obiko Pearson for their collaborative project Trapped. The report presented a compelling narrative on digital arrest and cybercrime networks in South Asia, supported by powerful visuals and in-depth storytelling.
The winners were announced at a ceremony in New York on Monday. The Pulitzer Board praised the project for its editorial depth and impactful investigative journalism. Anand RK’s illustrations brought the story to life through graphic storytelling, while Supriya Sharma and Natalie Pearson delivered detailed reporting. Additionally, Indian journalist Aniruddha Ghosal won in the International Reporting category for his investigation into surveillance technologies used by US border patrol agencies.
