Sai Durgha Tej’s ‘Sambaraala Yeti gattu’ has finally locked its theatrical release date after facing several postponements. The makers have officially announced that the film will hit screens on January 12, 2027. The announcement has sparked curiosity as reports suggest that Megastar Chiranjeevi and director Bobby Kolli’s Mega 158 could also target the Sankranti season. More clarity on that release is expected around August 22.
The film is likely to face strong competition during the Sankranti season. The Venkatesh, Kalyan Ram and Anil Ravipudi project is reportedly progressing at a fast pace with the festive season in mind. There is also speculation that the Ravi Teja–Sree Vishnu multistarrer could arrive during the same period. Meanwhile, Sharwanand and Sreenu Vaitla’s ‘George Krish’ has already announced January 12 as its release date.
Made on a large budget, ‘Sambaraala Yeti gattu’ is said to be a period drama set against the backdrop of violence in a region after the end of British rule. Unlike conventional Sankranti entertainers, the film reportedly focuses more on its period setting and intense narrative than on comedy and light hearted entertainment. It remains to be seen whether the film can break the usual Sankranti sentiment and connect strongly with audiences.
