With a large number of people travelling from Hyderabad to their native places during the Sankranti festival, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has stepped in to meet the increased demand by introducing 6,431 special buses. These services will operate from Hyderabad to various districts across Telangana and to other states.
According to TGSRTC, the special buses will be available on January 9, 10, 12 and 13. In addition, return services for passengers travelling back to Hyderabad after the festival will be available on January 18 and 19. Passengers availing the special bus services will be required to pay an additional 50 percent fare on tickets. The buses will operate from major busy terminals in Hyderabad, including MGBS, JBS, Uppal Cross Roads, Aramgarh, LB Nagar Cross Roads, KPHB, Bowenpally and Gachibowli.
To ensure passenger convenience, TGSRTC is arranging drinking water facilities, mobile toilets, dedicated seating arrangements, special announcement systems to inform passengers about bus arrivals and departures and temporary shelters at select locations for waiting passengers. The RTC management has also confirmed that the free bus travel facility for women will continue to be available during the Sankranti festival as well.
