

The International Kite and Sweet Festival was inaugurated in a grand manner at Parade Grounds, Hyderabad, on January 13. The festival was formally launched by Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao along with Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. The vibrant event witnessed participation from various countries and Indian states, with colorful kites filling the skies and showcasing cultural diversity. The festival aims to celebrate age-old traditions while promoting Hyderabad as a cultural and tourism destination.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said that such festivals play a vital role in preserving culture and traditions while also strengthening tourism-led employment opportunities. He stated that encouraging kite manufacturing locally in Hyderabad would generate livelihood opportunities for youth. Emphasizing the government’s vision, the Minister highlighted that tourism development is a key tool for revenue generation and employment creation. He also appealed to the public to visit tourism destinations regularly to support local artists and businesses and extended Sankranti greetings to all citizens.
