Google has announced the rollout of Personal Intelligence for Gemini in India, enhancing the AI assistant’s ability to provide contextual and personalised responses. Initially launched in the US earlier this year, this feature allows Gemini to connect with various Google apps, improving the accuracy and depth of its responses. The move is part of Google’s broader effort to strengthen integration across services like Search, Gmail, and Chrome.
With Personal Intelligence, users can link apps such as Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and Search to Gemini. Once enabled, the assistant can gather and combine data from these platforms to deliver more relevant answers. For example, while planning a trip, Gemini can fetch booking details from Gmail, retrieve saved images from Photos, and suggest destinations based on YouTube activity all within a single response.
Google clarified that this feature is optional and remains turned off by default, giving users full control over app connections. The company also stated that personal data is used only to respond to queries and not for training AI models. However, since the feature is still evolving, there may be occasional inaccuracies or misinterpretations. Currently, it is rolling out to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in India, with broader availability expected soon.
