The Andhra Pradesh government has completed the appointment of senior officials to the newly created districts of Polavaram and Markapuram. Orders were issued earlier to form Polavaram district with Rampachodavaram as its headquarters and Markapuram district with Markapuram as its centre.
On Tuesday night, the state government issued orders appointing in-charge Collectors, Superintendents of Police, and Joint Collectors to both districts to ensure smooth administrative functioning.
With the addition of these two new districts, the total number of districts in Andhra Pradesh has increased from 26 to 28. The government believes this move will help bring administration closer to the people and improve service delivery.
