Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, describing the event as a matter of pride not only for India but for the entire South Asian region. French President Emmanuel Macron and the United Nations Secretary-General attended the inaugural ceremony. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to visit the India AI Impact Expo 2026 at 11 am, where he will tour various international pavilions along with global leaders. He noted that the summit has emerged as a strong platform for Made in India innovation and India’s creative potential.
Addressing the gathering, Modi said the summit is energising Indian youth and encouraging responsible technological innovation. He observed that artificial intelligence initially raised several doubts but is now being used productively by young people. Emphasising the need for ethical responsibility, he compared AI to nuclear power, calling it a double-edged sword that must be guided carefully. Modi asserted that India’s youth are emerging as the country’s new strength and asset and stressed that the final control over AI technology and its outcomes must always remain in human hands.
