Strict action will be taken against those who commit atrocities against officials on election duty: DGP Shivdhar Reddy

State DGP B. Shivdhar Reddy warned that strict action will be taken as per the law if anyone commits atrocities on police and government officials on election duty. He made it clear that abusing the staff who are working tirelessly to conduct the election process smoothly or creating obstacles in their duties will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

He said that public representatives, candidates and political activists are not above the law and that legal action will be taken if they obstruct officials on duty. He advised that complaints against election personnel should be reported to the concerned higher authorities or the State Election Commission. He said that instructions have been given to the district SPs and CPs to complete the investigation of the cases already registered as soon as possible.
