

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Telangana Special Protection Force (SPF) and the State Bank of India (SBI) at the SPF Headquarters in Secunderabad, as part of enhanced welfare measures for serving personnel and employees. The agreement introduces a customised and comprehensive salary package tailored specifically for SPF personnel.
Under the package, SPF staff will receive extensive insurance benefits, including personal accidental insurance up to ₹100 lakh, air accident cover up to ₹160 lakh, permanent partial disability cover up to ₹80 lakh, and a group term life insurance cover of ₹10 lakh. Additional benefits include child education assistance, girl child marriage benefits, and several add-on covers such as air ambulance services, burn treatment, and repatriation expenses.
The MoU also provides special provisions for personnel killed in action against anti-national activities, terrorism, naxalism, or enemy action, with an additional accidental insurance cover of ₹10 lakh. Apart from insurance, the package includes loan facilities, concessions on locker rentals, and Platinum RuPay debit cards for account holders. Director General of SPF, Swati Lakra, IPS, expressed her appreciation to SBI for designing the salary package based on SPF’s specific requirements and conveyed her hope for a continued partnership. Senior SBI officials, including Ms. Neelakshi Singh, Deputy General Manager, were present during the MoU signing.
