A powerful snowstorm has swept across the United States, severely impacting daily life in several regions. From Texas to Virginia, nearly 11 southern states are experiencing heavy snowfall accompanied by extremely low temperatures. States such as Texas and Oklahoma are witnessing the most severe conditions.
The harsh weather has caused major disruptions to air travel. Authorities reported that around 3,300 flights were cancelled on Saturday, followed by nearly 7,000 cancellations on Sunday. Officials have warned that more than 200 million people across the country could be affected and advised residents to stay indoors unless travel is absolutely necessary.
Several states, including Kentucky, Virginia, Kansas, Arkansas, Georgia, and Mississippi, have been placed on high alert, with emergency measures implemented in some areas. Even southern states like Mississippi and Florida are expected to face dangerously cold conditions.
Meanwhile, Air India announced the cancellation of flights to and from New York and New Jersey on the 25th and 26th of this month due to the severe weather. The airline issued an advisory for passengers and assured that staff would be available to assist those who had booked tickets in advance.
