Hyderabad Police Commissioner Sajjanar has issued an advisory urging people to avoid travelling in dense fog conditions. He cautioned that the joy of the Sankranti festival should not turn into tragedy and advised commuters to begin their journey only after the fog clears and road visibility improves.
He warned that the eagerness to reach native places for the festival should not put lives at risk. With dense fog prevailing across the state, visibility has reduced drastically, making driving extremely dangerous. People were advised to avoid travelling in private vehicles during early morning or late-night hours.
If driving in fog is unavoidable, the Commissioner advised motorists to switch on fog lights and indicators, maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead, and avoid speeding even on seemingly empty roads. He emphasized that reaching home safely, even if delayed, is the true spirit of the festival.
