Road accidents continue to plague Telangana. In one incident near Karanakat in Tandur mandal of Vikarabad district, an RTC bus from Karnataka collided with a lorry. The bus driver suffered serious head injuries, while another person was also hurt. The lorry driver fled the spot soon after the crash. There were about 15 passengers on the bus, who narrowly escaped a major tragedy. In another accident on the Srisailam–Hyderabad highway in Nagarkurnool district, a speeding lorry rammed into a car. The car was completely mangled, leaving three people seriously injured. They were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Locals have urged authorities to take stricter road safety measures as such mishaps have been occurring frequently due to rash and negligent driving.
