Bomb threat emails sent to courts in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Monday created widespread panic. Unknown individuals targeted the district courts in Machilipatnam and Mulugu with similar emails, raising suspicions of a possible coordinated conspiracy. In Machilipatnam, the email was sent to the district court’s principal judge, prompting immediate evacuation. Judges, lawyers, and litigants rushed out of the premises fearing for their safety, and court proceedings were temporarily disrupted.
Police, along with the bomb squad and forensic teams, quickly took control of the premises and launched a thorough search operation. A similar situation unfolded in Mulugu district court, where staff and advocates fled the building after receiving the threat email. Security teams, including dog squads, are conducting detailed inspections of court halls and record rooms. Authorities in both states have initiated investigations to trace the source of the emails and determine whether there is a larger plot behind these coordinated threats.
