Allegations of a question paper leak have surfaced regarding the NEET UG examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 3 across India. Following the allegations, the Special Operations Group (SOG) launched an investigation and arrested 13 suspects from Rajasthan and Dehradun. Officials stated that more than 400 questions had gone viral on social media before the examination, and several of them reportedly matched the actual NEET paper.
According to SOG Additional DGP Vishal Bansal, over 100 Biology and Chemistry questions were found to be similar to those asked in the examination. While investigators are also examining the possibility that the viral content may have been speculative predictions, authorities suspect a larger scam behind the incident. The accused have been shifted to Jaipur for further questioning, and more arrests are likely in the coming days.
Earlier, the NTA maintained that the NEET examination was conducted under tight security at all centres nationwide on May 3. However, the agency said it received suspicious inputs late on May 7 and immediately informed central agencies the next morning for further investigation. NTA also stated that it is fully cooperating with investigators by sharing technical data and examination-related information.
