Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that foreign countries should not interfere in Iran’s process of selecting its next Supreme Leader. He explained that choosing the successor to current leader Ali Khamenei is an internal matter of the country.
Responding to comments made by U.S. President Donald Trump, Araghchi stated that Iran will not allow outside involvement in its national affairs. He added that the decision will be made by the Assembly of Experts, a body elected by the people. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Mojtaba Khamenei may have been chosen as the new leader.
