Ride-hailing services across India are likely to face disruption on February 7, as drivers associated with OLA, Uber, and Rapido have announced a six-hour nationwide strike. The protest will be observed from 6:00 am to 12:00 noon and is being supported by various gig worker unions across the country.
The drivers are demanding government-mandated minimum fares and stricter regulation of app-based transport services. They allege arbitrary pricing policies, rising operational costs, and exploitation by aggregator platforms. In view of the expected disruption, commuters are advised to make alternate travel arrangements to avoid inconvenience during peak morning hours.
