

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh extended heartfelt congratulations to distinguished Telugu personalities selected for the Padma Awards 2026, announced by the Central Government. He expressed happiness over the recognition given to eminent individuals who brought national pride through their exceptional service in various fields.
Among the honourees, renowned cancer specialist Dr. Nori Dattatreya received the Padma Bhushan, while Gadde Babu Rajendra Prasad and Maganti Murali Mohan were awarded the Padma Shri in the arts category. Other recipients include Krishnamurthy Bala Subrahmanyam (Science & Engineering), Palkonda Vijay Anand Reddy and Guduru Venkat Rao (Medical), Garimella Balakrishna Prasad (Arts), Dr. Kumaraswamy Thangaraj (Science), Vempati Kutumba Sastry (Literature), Deepika Reddy (Dance), Gaddamanu Chandramouli (Science), and former UGC Chairman Mamidala Jagadeesh Kumar. Nara Lokesh stated that their dedication and lifelong contributions have strengthened the reputation of Telugu people nationwide and described the awardees as a source of inspiration for future generations.
