

On the occasion of Mahashivratri, Shiva temples across the country were packed with devotees. Devotees stood in queues at the temples since early morning and performed special pujas and abhishekams. The temples were filled with the chanting of Shiva's name, and devotees kept vigils throughout the night and participated in Shiva worship.
A large number of devotees flocked to the Vemulawada Rajanna temple in Telangana. Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Adluri Lakshman, and Whip Adisrinivas will offer silk robes on behalf of the government. A large number of devotees also arrived for the darshan of Srisailam Mallikarjuna Swamy. Nandi Vahana Seva will be held in the evening, Rudrabhishekam at night, and Parvati-Parameshwara Kalyanam will be held at midnight.
Mahashivratri celebrations have begun in a grand manner in Kotappakonda, Palnadu district of Andhra Pradesh. While the priests performed the first abhishekam with Binde Tirtha, a large number of devotees have been standing in queues since midnight to have darshan of Lord Shiva in special attire.
