Leopard movement on the Srivarimettu footpath route created concern among devotees. On Sunday morning, a leopard is believed to have strayed from the Seshachalam forest area and crossed onto the Srivarimettu pathway, where it was spotted near the Saraswati Mandapam. Pilgrims walking along the route noticed the animal and immediately alerted vigilance personnel.
Upon reaching the spot, officials found the leopard sitting on a tree branch. After making loud noises, the animal retreated back into the forest. Following the incident, vigilance staff cautioned devotees and pedestrians to remain alert and advised them to travel in groups while using the Srivarimettu route.
