As tensions continue in West Asia, the Indian government has confirmed that around 2.6 lakh Indian citizens have returned safely to the country after February 28. This information was shared by External Affairs Ministry Additional Secretary (Gulf), Aseem R. Mahajan, during a meeting held in Delhi to review the ongoing situation.
He stated that about 70 flight services are currently operating from various airports in the UAE to India, helping in the evacuation process. Qatar’s airspace has been partially reopened, allowing limited flight operations. Qatar Airways operated five flights to India on Tuesday and announced nine services for Wednesday.
However, Kuwait’s airspace has remained closed since February 28, affecting travel plans. Although flight operations in some countries are still temporarily suspended, overall air travel conditions are gradually improving, making it easier for stranded passengers to return home.
