Discussions within the Congress party in Kerala have intensified over the selection of the Chief Minister candidate. V.D. Satheesan is reportedly leading the race, according to party sources. At the same time, Ramesh Chennithala and K.C. Venugopal are also said to be aspiring for the top post. The party high command is expected to finalize the CM candidate soon.
In the recent assembly elections, Congress secured 63 seats with 28.79% of the vote share. The CPM won 26 seats with 21.77% of votes, while the Indian Union Muslim League secured 22 seats with 11.01% vote share. These results have increased political interest in the CM selection process in Kerala.
