With the closure of the Strait of Hormuz severely impacting global trade, nations across the world have gone on high alert. Led by Britain, nearly 40 countries are currently engaged in discussions to find a resolution to this crisis. Representing India in these talks is Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. While efforts to find a solution through political and diplomatic channels are ongoing, some nations are also exploring the possibility of military intervention.
Meanwhile, tensions between Iran and Israel have intensified further. As Iranian missile strikes and Israeli airstrikes continue, ground combat in Lebanon has escalated. While U.S. President Donald Trump has issued stern warnings against Iran, the latter has countered with a warning of its own, asserting that it still possesses undisclosed weaponry. With warnings emerging that massive attacks could occur in the future, a highly tense atmosphere prevails across the Gulf region.
Concurrently, the Iranian leadership has issued a public appeal, urging citizens to prepare for reconstruction efforts. The leadership noted that the country's infrastructure and environment have suffered severe damage as a result of the conflict. On the other hand, although the United States has announced that it intends to bring the war to a swift conclusion, it has simultaneously signaled that the intensity of attacks is likely to increase further. Consequently, global concerns regarding energy supplies and security are on the rise.
