

A horrific road accident occurred in Karnataka during the Christmas festival. A private travels sleeper bus was hit by a lorry, triggering a fire inside the bus. In the incident, 20 people were burnt alive.
The bus was traveling from Bengaluru to Gokarna when the accident took place near Gorlathu village in Chitradurga district. Following the collision, both the bus and the lorry were completely gutted by fire.
Eyewitnesses said the lorry, which was heading from Hiriyur to Bengaluru, lost control and rammed into the oncoming travels bus. Upon receiving the information, police and fire department personnel rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. The accident led to a massive traffic jam in the area.
As the passengers were in deep sleep at the time of the accident, the fire spread rapidly before they could realize what was happening. With no chance to escape, 20 passengers were burnt alive. The accident reportedly occurred around 2 a.m.
Police said there were 32 passengers on board the bus at the time of the accident, and warned that the death toll could rise.
