

A fierce encounter took place between security forces and Maoists in the Chinnagallur forest area of Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh. Officials confirmed that notorious Maoist commander Udham Singh was killed in the exchange of fire. Acting on specific intelligence inputs about Maoist movement, security forces launched an operation in the region, which led to intense gunfire.
The joint operation involved personnel from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the CRPF’s elite CoBRA units. Following the encounter, security forces recovered an automatic AK-47 rifle from the spot. Officials stated that Udham Singh was a key figure in Maoist activities and played a significant role in orchestrating insurgent operations in the region.
After the encounter, the entire area was brought under the control of security forces. Authorities said that extensive search operations are currently underway to trace any remaining Maoists in the vicinity and security measures in the region have been further strengthened.
