The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened registrations for the CTET February 2026 examination. The online application process began on November 27, 2025, and will continue until December 18, 2025, 11:59 PM. Candidates must complete both the application form and fee payment within this deadline. Alongside the registration, CTET has also published the official information bulletin, outlining eligibility rules, exam structure, and important instructions.
As per the bulletin, the minimum qualifications for teachers must align with the norms set by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the recruitment rules followed by respective state governments, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. CTET clarified that appearing for the exam does not guarantee eligibility for a teaching post; final verification will be carried out by the appointing authorities. Candidates from reserved categories—SC, ST, OBC, and differently-abled—will receive a 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks.
The exam will consist entirely of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with no negative marking. CTET includes two papers: Paper I for candidates aiming to teach Classes 1 to 5, and Paper II for those aspiring to teach Classes 6 to 8. Individuals seeking eligibility for both levels must appear for both papers. Each exam will run for two-and-a-half hours, and all sections in Paper I are compulsory.
