Congress's lead in municipal elections, exit polls reveal

The municipal elections held in Telangana on Wednesday ended peacefully. Voters flocked to polling stations from morning to evening to exercise their right to vote. People's Pulse exit polls indicated that the Congress party will dominate these elections held for 116 municipalities and 7 corporations across the state.

The survey said that the BJP is likely to emerge as the largest party in Karimnagar and Nizamabad corporations. The assessment revealed that these elections are likely to turn out to be negative for the main opposition BRS party, and that the AIMIM is likely to play a key role in the decision of power in some corporations.
