Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for Amaravati Quantum Valley, India’s first quantum ecosystem, in the state capital. The event was attended by Union Minister for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh, IT Minister Nara Lokesh, state and central ministers, and representatives from leading companies including IBM, TCS, and L&T.
The Quantum Valley Towers, to be built across 50 acres at Uddandarayunipalem, will house India’s first 133 qubit quantum computer centre, being set up in partnership with the Andhra Pradesh government. The facility aims to become a major hub for research and innovation in quantum computing, communications, quantum sensors, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, defence, healthcare, and finance.
The IBM Quantum Innovation Centre was also inaugurated on the occasion. According to IBM representative Amit Singhee, Amaravati Quantum Valley is set to emerge as a global quantum nerve centre, providing access to quantum hardware and advanced research capabilities. It will be India’s first Quantum Innovation Centre, joining a global network of 35 such centres worldwide.
