
Junior colleges in the state are set to reopen from April 1. Classes for students promoted from first year to second year Intermediate will be conducted from April 1 to April 23, followed by summer holidays from April 24 to May 31. With the introduction of the NCERT syllabus and adoption of the CBSE pattern from the 2025-26 academic year, the schedule has been structured to conduct classes after public examinations before the summer break.
The academic calendar for the 2026-27 academic year has been released by Board of Intermediate Education Secretary Ranjith Basha. Colleges will function for a total of 232 working days. Quarterly exams will be held from October 5 to 9, and half-yearly exams from November 25 to 30. Dasara holidays are scheduled from October 10 to 20, and Sankranti holidays from January 9 to 17. Pre-final exams will take place from January 19 to 23, followed by practical exams in February and theory public exams in February or March. The academic year will conclude on March 18. Authorities also warned private colleges against illegal advertisements promising ranks and results.
