Amid escalating tensions between Israel, Iran, and the U.S., several Indians who were stranded in the UAE finally reached India on Tuesday. Due to the sudden closure of airspace across the Gulf region, these travelers had to endure a six-hour road journey from the UAE to Oman to catch available flights. Passengers reported that while the situation on the ground in cities like Dubai remained physically calm, a sense of anxiety prevailed due to flight cancellations and regional instability.
Returning travelers, including Arhaan, a Dubai resident who arrived in Mumbai, shared that the primary challenge was the massive hike in airfares, with some airlines charging four to five times the normal rates. Despite receiving safety messages to stay indoors during missile strikes, he noted that the local population remained composed. However, the unpredictability of flight schedules eventually forced many to seek alternative routes through neighboring countries to ensure a safe return home.
