The ongoing CII Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam is turning Andhra Pradesh into the centre of national attention. With investment proposals worth over ₹11 lakh crore from nearly 400 companies—expected to generate around 13 lakh jobs—the event is already a massive success. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is working aggressively to bring transformative opportunities into the state.
Beyond conventional data centres, Andhra Pradesh is now stepping into a new era of sustainable, clean-energy-powered digital infrastructure. With major commitments from global giants like Google, Adani, and Reliance, the state is positioning itself as a long-term leader in the green data revolution.
In a landmark development, the AP government has signed an MoU with the globally reputed Brookfield Group. This partnership marks a futuristic shift in how data centres are built—powered entirely by renewable energy and designed without straining natural resources. Under this agreement, Brookfield will establish a 3-gigawatt green-energy-driven data centre, making it the largest sustainable data centre in India so far.
Until now, Adani’s 1 GW green data centre held the national record. With Brookfield’s entry, the capacity has tripled, securing Andhra Pradesh’s position as India’s green data centre capital.
Data centres usually consume enormous power, often sourced from coal and water-based systems that are non-renewable. Brookfield, however, brings expertise in developing eco-friendly, innovative and future-ready data centre models—a move that aligns perfectly with AP’s vision of clean growth. This development is attracting global attention and placing Andhra Pradesh at the forefront of India’s sustainable technology transformation.
Brookfield’s plans extend far beyond a single project. The company is preparing to invest ₹1.06 lakh crore in module manufacturing units, supply-chain facilities, renewable energy projects, global capability centres, logistics hubs, ports, and even industrial townships. These investments are expected to create thousands of jobs and accelerate long-term economic development.
Opposition parties once criticised CBN after Google announced its Vizag data centre plan, questioning its sustainability. But with this major green data centre investment, Naidu has responded decisively. He has demonstrated a clear understanding of where the future of data centres is heading.
This move shows that the future is not only about speed and storage—but also about sustainability, responsibility, and progressive growth for Andhra Pradesh.
