Andhra Pradesh’s ambition to become India’s leading data hub is gaining strong momentum. After Google announced its ₹87,000-crore mega data center project in Vizag, another tech giant, Reliance, has now confirmed a major investment in the state.
At the ongoing Vizag Investor Summit, Reliance revealed plans to set up a 1 GW AI-driven data center in Andhra Pradesh, powered entirely by a massive 6 GWp solar power project. Additionally, the company will establish a greenfield integrated food park in Kurnool and multiple compressed biogas hubs, strengthening the state’s industrial ecosystem.
A formal MoU was signed between Reliance and the Andhra Pradesh government during the CII Partnership Summit. These investments add to Reliance’s existing $25 billion portfolio in the state, spanning energy, digital services, and retail.
With Google and Reliance both setting up 1 GW hyperscale data centers in Andhra Pradesh, the state is now positioned to host two of India’s largest data infrastructure projects — marking a rare and significant achievement for the region.
