In a major development in the adulterated ghee case related to the preparation of Tirumala Laddu prasadam, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has rejected the bail plea of Chinna Appanna, the personal assistant of YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP and former TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy.
The case pertains to allegations that adulterated ghee was supplied for the preparation of the sacred laddu prasadam, and that Chinna Appanna allegedly received money from certain dairies. Following these allegations, a CBI-led Special Investigation Team conducted a probe and arrested him.
Seeking relief, Chinna Appanna filed a bail petition in the High Court. After hearing arguments from the CBI, TTD, and the defence counsel, the court agreed with the prosecution’s submissions and refused to grant bail, dismissing the petition.
