TG: Government issues orders offering a one-time settlement scheme for property tax defaulters

The government has announced major relief for property tax defaulters in Hyderabad by introducing a One Time Settlement (OTS) scheme. Under this initiative, a massive 90% waiver on interest for pending property tax dues has been approved.

As per the newly issued G.O.Rt. No. 869, taxpayers are required to pay only the principal amount along with 10% of the interest, while the remaining interest will be waived.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) clarified that this scheme is applicable only to Hyderabad residents. The orders also mention that the benefit applies to both government and private institutions for the financial year 2025–26.

Authorities have urged property owners to make use of this limited-time opportunity and clear their pending dues at the earliest.
