Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education and IT, Nara Lokesh, stated that creating 20 lakh jobs in the state is the government’s primary objective. He inaugurated the new Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) office at Mayuri Tech Park near Mangalagiri and directed officials to focus on turning investment agreements into actual ground-level projects. Senior officials welcomed the minister, who later reviewed the office and unveiled the plaque.
Addressing APEDB staff, Lokesh said the previous government had neglected the board and stressed the need to deliver on employment promises made during the Yuva Galam padayatra. He recalled meeting a woman named Mohana, who sought jobs for her children rather than financial aid. Highlighting progress, he said that within 20 months, the coalition government attracted significant investments, with Andhra Pradesh receiving ₹25 out of every ₹100 invested in India. He also noted that globally reputed companies are choosing AP as a preferred investment destination and congratulated the APEDB team and CEO Saikanth Varma for their efforts.
