The sudden deaths of national birds in Karnataka’s Tumakuru district have triggered serious concern among locals and officials. Peacocks, known for their beauty in the region’s green fields, are reportedly dying in alarming numbers. Authorities confirmed that 44 peacocks have died so far, leading to a high alert in the district.
Laboratory reports confirmed that the deaths were caused by the H5N1 bird flu virus. Following the findings, officials have intensified monitoring and surveillance measures in affected areas. Special attention is being given to regions with a high presence of birds, while residents have been advised to remain cautious.
