Director Gautham Vasudev Menon expressed relief and gratitude after the Madras High Court granted permission for the release of his long-delayed film Dhruva Natchathiram. Sharing an emotional note, he highlighted the struggles faced over the past decade, stating that many had tried to halt the film and damage his career. He credited his lawyer Abdul Hameed for standing by him during difficult times and acknowledged Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy for his crucial order, which paved the way for the film’s release.
Starring Vikram and Ritu Varma, the film began production in 2016 and was initially planned for release the following year but faced multiple delays due to financial and legal issues. Production house On In Pictures had approached the court alleging breach of agreement and non-payment, seeking a stay on the release. However, with the court now granting clearance, the film is finally set to reach audiences after years of uncertainty, marking a significant moment for the cast and crew.
