Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor has reportedly received an extortion threat from an unidentified caller demanding ₹5 crore. The caller allegedly introduced himself as Harry Boxer, a person believed to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and threatened the actor with serious consequences if he failed to pay the money. Kapoor approached the Mumbai Police after receiving the threat. According to reports, he lodged a complaint around a week ago, but the matter was not made public immediately due to security concerns. The complaint was subsequently taken up by the Mumbai Crime Branch and its Anti-Extortion Cell.
However, the preliminary investigation has raised doubts about the caller’s claimed identity. The Crime Branch’s technical team compared the voice in the threatening audio recording with official samples of Harry Boxer, but found no match. Police suspect that an unidentified person may have used the gangster’s name to intimidate the actor and extort money. Investigators are now trying to trace the source of the call and identify the person responsible. Tusshar Kapoor has acted in more than 30 Bollywood films and has also worked as a producer. He is the brother of prominent film producer Ekta Kapoor.
