Nandamuri Balakrishna's prestigious film 'Akhanda 2: Tandavam' is currently facing a series of legal and administrative hurdles. Initially scheduled for release on December 5th, the film has been postponed to December 12th due to unavoidable reasons. While both Telugu state governments had approved a ticket price hike and permitted special shows, this decision was challenged by an advocate who filed a lunch motion petition in court.
Hearing the petition, the Telangana High Court considered the state government's own policy of not allowing special shows after the incidents during the 'Pushpa 2' premiere. The court, perceiving a bias in the government's decision, issued an interim order canceling the ticket price hike and the permission for special shows for 'Akhanda 2' in Telangana. This ruling questioned why these special concessions were granted to this particular film when others this year were denied similar benefits.
'Akhanda 2' marks the fourth collaboration between actor Balakrishna and director Boyapati Srinu and is the sequel to their 2021 blockbuster 'Akhanda'. Featuring Saiyukta Menon, Harshaali Malhotra, and Adi Pinishetty in key roles, the film is reportedly Balakrishna's biggest-budget project to date and is anticipated to be his fourth consecutive box office hit.
