Sankranthi is one of the most celebrated and lucrative seasons for Telugu cinema. Families that rarely visit theaters during the year make it a tradition to watch at least one movie together during the festival. This festive sentiment leads to packed theaters, and even films with average buzz often see better results during this time. The Sankranthi 2026 lineup is already looking crowded, with six notable films lined up for release.
The Raja Saab – January 09
Starring Prabhas, this horror-fantasy film directed by Maruthi promises a mix of comedy and supernatural elements. Fans are eager to see Prabhas return to a lighter, entertaining role after a string of action-packed films.
Jana Nayakudu (Dubbed) – January 09
The Telugu dubbed version of Jana Nayagan, starring Thalapathy Vijay. This film carries special significance as it marks Vijay’s final release before officially entering politics.
