Rishab Shetty’s Shivaji Biopic Gets a New Star

After the blockbuster success of Kantara, actor Rishab Shetty is all set to entertain audiences with another prestigious pan India project, The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The makers have officially announced that Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar will play a key role in the film. She will portray the brave warrior queen Belawadi Mallamma, known for her courage and valour.

Bhumi Pednekar expressed her happiness about being part of the film, calling it an honour to be associated with the story of the great Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. She also praised Rishab Shetty’s performance in Kantara and said she accepted the role after listening to director Sandeep Singh’s narration. The film, featuring Rishab Shetty as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj along with Arjun Rampal and Vivek Oberoi in important roles, is planned as a two part epic. Produced by Sandeep Singh under Legend Studios and Immerso banners, the film will have music by Amit Trivedi and is expected to begin shooting later this year.
