Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has come out strongly in support of director SS Rajamouli, criticizing those who are targeting him for not believing in God while making films related to divinity.
In a sharp post on social media, RGV said that questioning an atheist for directing a film based on God makes no sense. “Some people are asking how a person who doesn’t believe in God can make a film on God. By that logic, does a director need to become a gangster to make a gangster film?” he wrote.
He further added that if someone who doesn’t believe in God receives immense success, it only shows that God doesn’t have a problem with atheists. “When God himself has no issue, why should you?” RGV asked, taking a dig at those criticizing Rajamouli.
His comments have sparked fresh discussions online, with many appreciating his direct and logical response.
