Director Pa. Ranjith has heaped praise on Sobhita Dhulipala for her commitment to his upcoming film Vettuvam. The filmmaker revealed that Sobhita performed her action sequences without using a stunt double during the actual filming. According to Ranjith, stunt doubles were used only during camera rehearsals, while Sobhita herself performed the shots to retain authenticity. The actor has taken on the physically demanding role of Rathi and has undergone rigorous preparation for the action-heavy portions of the film.
Speaking about the demanding choreography, Sobhita said some of the action movements featured in Vettuvam would ordinarily require around 15 to 20 years of practice, but the support and teamwork of the entire crew helped her perform them during the shoot. The film’s recently unveiled glimpse presents a genre-blending action and sci-fi world spanning three different time periods, with traditional martial arts and a struggle for power and survival at its centre. Starring Sobhita alongside Arya and V.R. Dinesh, Vettuvam is being produced by Learn and Teach Productions and Neelam Productions, with music by G.V. Prakash Kumar, and is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release in December 2026.
