Kareena Kapoor has criticised the tendency in the film industry to blindly follow successful trends. She said that whenever a movie becomes a hit, producers and directors often stop experimenting and start pursuing similar ideas. According to Kareena, filmmakers should avoid thinking like a herd and instead focus on creating stories that offer audiences something fresh and different.
Citing Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal as an example, Kareena said the film’s success has encouraged several filmmakers to make violence-driven stories. She pointed out that audiences today are much smarter and can clearly decide which films are worth watching in theatres. Kareena stressed that filmmakers should not simply copy a successful formula, as audiences will support a film only when it has strong content and a compelling story.
