Ram Charan recently attended the Republic Summit, where he shared his views on stardom, family legacy, and his career journey. He said that although coming from a film family may provide an initial platform, audiences ultimately judge an actor based on talent, hard work, and honesty. Reflecting on his childhood, Ram Charan revealed that directors and producers often told him he had to perform better than his father, Megastar Chiranjeevi. However, he never allowed that pressure to affect him and instead focused on building his own identity in the industry. He also praised Chiranjeevi’s discipline, calling it a major source of inspiration throughout his career.
Speaking about the evolving entertainment landscape, Ram Charan emphasized that theatres and OTT platforms should complement each other rather than compete. He highlighted how RRR gained global recognition after its Netflix release, helping the film reach international audiences and earn Oscar recognition. He also pointed out that cinema remains one of the most affordable forms of entertainment in India and expressed hope that theatre experiences become even more accessible. According to him, films that unite people and celebrate national pride will always have a special place in the hearts of audiences.
