Following his atheist comments about Lord Hanuman at the Globetrotter launch event, sensational filmmaker SS Rajamouli has found himself embroiled in controversy. His claim that he didn't believe in Hanuman caused a huge uproar and received a lot of negative feedback on social media. The Rashtriya Vanara Sena has now filed a formal complaint at the Saroornagar Police Station against the director.
Vanara Sena members reportedly took strong issue with Rajamouli's remarks while he was on stage. They demanded that he be arrested for offending religious sentiments and claimed that his remarks were disparaging of Lord Hanuman. The organization went on to say that such statements, particularly when made by well-known figures, cannot be written off as mere opinions.
Concern over the growing trend of disrespect for Hindu deities in the film industry was also voiced by the Rashtirya Vanara Sena. Saroornagar Police have not yet taken any action in the meantime. We're still waiting on more information and developments.
