An interesting discussion has emerged in Tollywood over the release schedules of Megastar Chiranjeevi's upcoming films. The makers have already announced January 13 as the release date for ‘Kaka’, directed by Bobby. Meanwhile, reports suggest that ‘Vishwambhara’, directed by Vassishta, could also enter the 2027 Sankranti race. According to reports, Amazon Prime, which has acquired the film's digital streaming rights, has reportedly expressed interest in a festive-season release. An official announcement is expected in November, although UV Creations has not issued any confirmation so far. Similar speculation surfaced earlier, prompting the producers to clarify that there would be no change in ‘Kaka’s’ release schedule.
‘Vishwambhara’ has already faced multiple postponements, leaving its release date uncertain. The film was initially scheduled for a Sankranti release in 2025 but was delayed due to pending graphics and visual effects work. Although reports suggest that the technical work has now been completed, speculation about its release continues. While October reports indicated a possible March release, Sankranti has once again entered the discussion. Meanwhile, ‘Kaka’ is also progressing with a festive-season release in mind. Trisha plays the female lead in ‘Vishwambhara’, with M. M. Keeravani composing the music. If both films arrive during the same festive season, the clash could affect theatre allocation and promotional strategies. An official announcement from UV Creations is awaited to clear the uncertainty.
