The Supreme Court is set to hear petitions alleging irregularities in the management of donations received by the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Trust. The petitioners have sought a court-monitored investigation to ensure transparency in the utilisation of funds. A bench led by Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant will take up the matter. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has already submitted its report to the court in a sealed cover.
The petitioners have demanded a forensic audit of the donations under the supervision of the court. According to the SIT report, CCTV footage reportedly revealed 105 incidents of theft. The Supreme Court had earlier suggested including a forensic auditor in the investigation to ensure a thorough examination of the trust’s financial records and the alleged irregularities.
