Rajamouli Changes His Working Style for Varanasi.. Here’s What’s Different!

SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi is one of the most awaited projects in Indian cinema. Starring Superstar Mahesh Babu and Global Star Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles, the film also features Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran in a key role. The movie is being developed as a globe-trotting adventure action drama with a mythological touch. According to reports, more than 90% of the shooting has already been completed, with major sequences filmed at international locations. Songs and episodes set against the Ramayana backdrop are also reportedly completed, while key adventure sequences are said to have been shot in Antarctica and the dense forests of Africa.

What has particularly caught attention is Rajamouli’s reportedly different approach to the production. Unlike Baahubali and RRR, which took several years to complete, Varanasi is being made according to a pre-planned release schedule. Editing, dubbing, background score, graphics and VFX work are reportedly progressing alongside the shoot instead of waiting for filming to finish completely. International VFX studios are also said to be working on the project, with the team preparing scenes progressively. The makers are reportedly planning a major promotional campaign from Dussehra, with a series of updates expected to build further anticipation. If these reports are accurate, Varanasi could mark a significant change in Rajamouli’s usual working style.
