Nandamuri Balakrishna’s son Mokshagna Teja is one of the most awaited debutants in Telugu cinema. Fans have been eagerly waiting for his first film, with expectations rising because of his family background and his position as Balakrishna’s successor. Earlier, a project with Hanu-Man director Prasanth Varma was officially announced, but the film reportedly did not move forward.
Now, the name of director Vassishta is being strongly discussed in connection with Mokshagna’s debut. According to industry buzz, Vassishta has prepared a story combining fantasy and mass elements and has reportedly narrated it to both Balakrishna and Mokshagna. The story is said to have impressed them, leading to discussions about giving the project a green signal. However, Mokshagna, Balakrishna, Vassishta and the production team have not officially confirmed the project so far.
Vassishta earned recognition with Bimbisara, starring Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, which blended socio-fantasy elements with a large-scale presentation. He is currently directing Chiranjeevi in Vishwambhara, another socio-fantasy project. With his experience in fantasy-based stories, the possibility of him introducing Mokshagna with a similar genre has created considerable interest among fans.
Reports also suggest that the makers are considering launching Mokshagna’s debut film around the Dussehra festival, with shooting potentially beginning after the celebrations. Pre-production work is reportedly underway. The launch was allegedly delayed earlier due to Balakrishna’s health-related treatment, but the project is now said to be moving forward again.
Mokshagna’s debut carries significant expectations, and fans are particularly curious about the kind of role he will play. Whether he will be introduced as a mass hero or through a fantasy-driven character remains to be seen. Since several reports about his debut have surfaced in the past, fans may have to wait for an official announcement before drawing any conclusions.
