Ukraine has escalated its drone attacks targeting Russia’s critical oil infrastructure, striking key fuel depots and pumping stations in regions such as Stavropol, Tver, and Ufa. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that these operations were intensified due to Moscow’s refusal to end the war. He emphasized that despite repeated proposals for peace, Russia has not responded, forcing Ukraine to continue its offensive strategy and create sustained pressure within Russian territory.
Russian officials confirmed that multiple oil facilities, railway infrastructure, and depots, including those in Crimea, were hit during overnight drone attacks that began on Thursday and continued into early Friday. At least six oil depots were reportedly destroyed, triggering massive fires and prompting evacuations of nearby residents. Drone strikes also targeted two oil tankers in the Sea of Azov. Continuous attacks on refineries have led to fuel shortages in several regions, with motorists waiting for hours at petrol stations. Russia claimed it shot down 73 Ukrainian drones, while Ukraine reported intercepting 72 out of 94 Russian drones and two ballistic missiles launched overnight.
